The Malta Golden Visa, officially known as the Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP), grants permanent residency in Malta to non-EU nationals who make a qualifying investment. It also provides visa-free access to the Schengen Zone (90 days out of 180) and the right to live in Malta indefinitely..

Administrative Government fee: €50,000 (non-refundable. Typically split: €15,000 upon application submission and €35,000 after approval)

Property requirement:
 – Rent: minimum €14,000/year in Malta or Gozo
 – Buy: minimum €375,000 in Malta or Gozo
Must hold property or rental lease for 5 years minimum.

Government contribution: €30,000 (if buying) or €60,000 (if renting)
NGO donation: €2,000

Per dependent: €10,000 each

Minimum capital assets: €500,000 (of which €150,000 must be financial assets)

Health insurance covering all risks in Malta and the EU

No. You are not required to reside in Malta to keep your residency status. However, you must maintain the investment and property lease/purchase.
